Ok - even with the Windows Installer Service disabled, the program itself (qbw32.exe) disables itself after a time post installation. We're making progress; if the registry entry it creates is unencrypted, it may be possible to modify the registry entry so that the program doesn't disable itself. Stay tuned.

Impressively, turning off the Windows Installer Service (MSIExec.exe) and blocking it with windows firewall still doesn't solve the "unregistered" problem. Additionally, the 3 attempted internet accesses to community.intuit.com, tcontent.quickbooks.com, and qb21fgocd.quickbooks.com were blocked via a hosts file edit. Yet somehow, the software still managed to deactivate itself. Clearly, there is something special going on.
