well that was some work - 8h at least,
Could have been first with an easy version, but thats not gonna happen,
i want it nice the first time, that takes longer though.
anyway we all know video is a bit jerky also brightness and contrast was way off.
subs were needed for the alien parts.
Also audio wasnt great, was surprised nobody did anything with it. its so damned
loud it crackles on each louder scene, also background noise and hiss and hum when
there is no music around.
its hard to tag that movie its prolly a telecine played with 5.1 but recorded directly
in stereo, which would explain why the surround effects are louder than necessary,
that cant be fixed btw.
firstly i took the aliensubs from the ts and retimed them on frame point.
Fixed the brightness, contrast levels, corrected the rgb added sharpness and denoise.
dont wanted to crop the subs, placing the subs over the chinese looks odd and hard to read.
Have already done the blurr and place subs over it thing on that planet of the apes movie.
But i thought i try something new by placing them underneath the chinese subs.
Not that easy as it seems but worked perfectly.
Video looks perfect now considering the source, optimized as always for 52" screens.
For the audio i cleaned it through removed all kind of noise and fixed the
loudness overloading, and balanced it out to standard levels.
Like mentioned above the music is sometimes louder than necessary but that cant be fixed.
All in all totally watchable now and will do me till some retail comes around and
makes the 8h work totally worth it.
