Kings Of Leon are a rock band made up of three brothers and a cousin, based in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. Their influences range from Southern rock, indie, to blues styles. Their critically acclaimed first and second albums have given them a devoted following, especially in Europe. The group's name is derived from Nathan, Caleb, and Jared's father and grandfather, both named Leon.

'Because Of The Times' is the name of Kings Of Leon's third studio album released on March 30th 2007 in Ireland and Australia, April 2nd 2007 in the UK, and April 3rd 2007 in the US. Taking their unique fusion of country rock and new-wave to new and exciting levels, this album justifies the immense hype that has surrounded the band since their inception, and will please fans of bands as diverse as Interpol and The Band. Lead singer Caleb Followill said: "These songs are so much bigger, this band is so much better. There was a growth that people thought they heard on 'Aha Shake Heartbreak' from 'Youth And Young Manhood', but there's no comparison this time out. I think it's pretty evident when people hear it."
The title refers to a large UPC ministers conference held in Alexandria, Louisiana that the brothers attended often. Moreover, lead singer Caleb Followill has said the title comes from the saying that if an album does well it's "Because of the times" or if it bombs, it's "Because of the times."

The album was preceded by new single 'On Call' released on March 26th 2007.
