If you don know how to update, then follow this few simple step.
1. Open up the run program from windows.
2. Type in %appdata% and click ok
3. Find the .minecraft folder in the roaming folder, and enter .minecraft server.
3. Run the update and click force update and it will update your game.ENJOY!!

i installed the extracted file from the download, installed fine. Then when i ran minecrafted, i chose a nickname, then once i clicked "Start Minecraft", a message appears saying "Could not create the Java virtual machine." Any suggestions? Thanks :)
