i figured it out. install the main program, then open the other program that comes with it "adobe photoshop cs4 (k) (intel)" and run the one that says "use this to [k] photoshop 4" it will open a window with an area where you can drag and drop things. now drag the icon for photoshop from the main program you installed into that window, and then click "select adobe photoshop cs4 app" .. i did all this and it worked
This is actually Photoshop CS4 Extended. More than I'll ever need. Everything works. After download, Install as "TRAIL". Installation takes some time, make sure you install everything, do the recommended install. After install is done open "Adobe Photoshop CS4 [k] (INTEL).dmg", select Photoshop application....Done!!! Open and have fun.
Also comes with Adobe Bridge CS4, very useful program
It has Adobe Camera Raw, not sure what version, but you can download the newest version from Adobe.

it won't patch them now...fail...
for those commenting that it says the file cannot be patched, make sure when selecting the adobe photoshop app to click the dropdown arrow next to it and select the actual app, rather than the Photoshop group of apps.
same problem as others, I get the you can't apply the patch to this file message- anyone know hoe to fix?
