Roswell Season 1 (Original Audio Versions - Not those DVD Versions) [Part 1]

This is the first half of Roswell season 1 Original Audio Version episodes. These episodes are not from the DVDs released with changed music. These were recorded from the shows first airing back in 1999/2000. The music tracks in every episode contain the real original music, not the changed music that was put onto the official DVDs.



Note: I will ONLY seed until I reach a ratio of perhaps 4 or 5, after that, you people are on your own. I did my fare share. I will need to delete this data to save the rest of season 1, assuming you would like to see and hear it? ;)



These episodes are captured from PAL VHS, which I enhanced the video using VirtualDub's many filters and techniques. The audio is Dolby Stereo 2.0 on all episodes, except for two 2 minute scenes out of all episodes of the three seasons of Roswell. Those two short scenes were copies of a 5th-generation MONO VHS tape so the video AND audio were both VERY-bad quality! I did repair the video as best I could, also the audio I removed hissing noise that was on it (it was a mono tape!.) I also added some bass which is usually non-existent on mono tapes, I also altered the frequency of certain parts of the 2 minute audio track to enhance the words being spoken to make it sound much clearer. I used Audacity to enhance the audio. I will add a note in the torrent for the second half of season 1 which episodes have this minor issue and whereabouts in those 2 episodes. I have completed enhancing up to and including episode 14 of season 1 so far. Although, only episode 1 - 11 are in this torrent. I will release the second half of season 1 soon hopefully.



If anyone has copies of the original Roswell episodes with the real music (not the music that is on the official DVD episodes) please upload these episodes! Especially if they are as high video and audio quality as my episodes are.



I have also added two short sample .avi videos in the torrent for you to download and use as a sample to see if you like the quality. The first sample is the original intro scene of a random Roswell episode without any digital enhancement. The second clip is of the final enhanced copy of what the episodes will look like.



The file size of each episode varies from 290 - 310 for various reasons while compressing from its 15GB original source for one episode. The video and audio quality is not diminished, that can be seen clearly by downloading the enhanced sample. It is at the same file size x amount of time encoded as the episodes, gives a good indication of how the episodes will look. I would have preferred to have the episodes at the standard 350MB each episode, but I can not do that without performing several transcodes, which causes the episodes to become unstable and go out of sync by up to half a second! So, this way, the video and audio stay perfectly in-sync and the video/audio quality is still respectable. Besides, remember these were from VHS...enhanced VHS, but VHS none-the-less. So the quality is not going to be drop-dead-fantastic. Plus they are free. :P
