Patrick Volkerding has announced that "current" branch of Slackware Linux has reached release candidate 4 status: "I wasn't planning a Slackware 11.0 release candidate 4, but here we go." The new -- and unusually verbose -- entry in the changelog tell us that: udev's log level has been changed from "crit" to "err"; K3b now writes to /dev/writer; permissions on input events have been relaxed from 600 to 640; a number of software packages have been upgraded, including Linux kernel to version 2.4.33.3, MySQL to 5.0.24a and Samba to 3.0.23c; all necessary applications have been recompiled against the new kernel and MySQL."
