Nadat hij gebeten is door een genetisch gemanipuleerde libel, ontwikkelt high school loser Rick Riker superkrachten. Hij besluit zijn krachten te gebruiken voor goede zaken en wordt een gemaskerde misdaadbestrijder genaamd 'The Dragonfly'. Hij komt echter snel tegenover de slechterik Lou Landers te staan. Na een mislukt experiment, heeft deze de kracht ontwikkeld andermans levenskracht te ontnemen om zodoende onsterfelijkheid voor zichzelf te creëren. Zal het 'The Dragonfly' lukken deze slechterik te verslaan en de wereld te redden?
