The Definitive Star Wars PC Collection

[hr]

This is the most complete Star Wars torrent you have ever seen with 40 releases. This torrent was created so that it can have every unique release ever made while keeping it redundant free. There are only 4 titles that are presumably safe that are missing from this collection. Those are:

Star Wars – Yoda’s Challenge

Star Wars – Anakin’s Speedway

Star Wars – Early Learning Activity Center

Star Wars – Jar Jar’s Journey

I decided to go ahead without these for two reasons. One, they’re very hard to find so it would take up to a few months to acquire them all. Two, As such I doubt people will miss them enough to warrant the $60-120 they’d cost to get.

All games, with exception to floppy releases, are full disc images in Bin/Cue format.

Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, and Episode III Activity Center are indeed SAFE now. Amazon only has Episode III and it’s through J&R BUT it is a clearance item and it is discontinued everywhere else. Ubisoft does not list or sell the title. Jedi Academy and Jedi Outcast are no longer provided by Lucasarts and therefore are now safe.

Release Information

Star Wars

imageimage

The first Star Wars game ever released on PC. This Atari arcade game conversion was a premium title in its day with state of the art wireframe graphics in a first person shooter perspective.

[hr]

Star Wars – Chess

imageimage

Luke Skywalker is your King and Princess Leia is actually a Queen in this 3D animated chess game. You can choose, however, to govern the evil Galactic Empire and then have Darth Vader as your King. After you’ve selected your move, each character comes to life and has special skills that’ll have this chess match seem like more than just a board game.

Star Wars – Rebel Assault

imageimage

You play a Rebel space cadet and have various missions to complete: Flying starships, destroying Walkers, infiltrating an enemy base etc. All viewpoints and gameplay is through the use of motion video backdrops.

Star Wars – X-Wing Series

You all know that whole picture adage, so I’ll put it to use right here:

X-Wing 1993

Tie Fighter 1994

X-Wing Collector CD-ROM 1995

imageimage

Tie Fighter Collector CD-ROM 1995

imageimage

X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter 1997

imageimage

X-Wing Collector Series 1998

imageimage

X-Wing Alliance 1999

X-Wing Alliance Upgrade Mod

I hope those comparison shots clear up some of the X-wing confusion.

Star Wars - X-Wing

imageimage

The rookie pilot can pilot three starfighters: the X-Wing, the A-Wing, and the Y-Wing. Single starfighters have different parameters, such as speed, hull and shield strength, armament, etc.

First of all, the pilot must learn how to have basic control of his starship. Pilot will learn this in the Pilot 'Proving Ground'. Then the pilot can try out 'Traing Simulator' where they will be flying missions against Empire from Rebel Alliance history (6 missions for each starfighter). When players sufficiently understand how to control single crafts, he can set off on the main part of the game, the campaign called 'Tour of Duty'. (X-Wing game has 3 campaigns).

Star Wars – Imperial Pursuit

imageimage

The first mission disk for the great X-Wing game was released in 1993. This mission disk adds an original game: New Tour of Duty (Imperial Pursuit) - campaign consists of twenty missions and player has four choices of two missions

Star Wars – X-Wing - B-Wing

imageimage

The second mission disk for X-Wing game was released in 1993 (maybe 1994?). This mission disk adds in original game: Brand-new starfighter B-Wing, 6 new training missions for B-Wing, New Tour of Duty (B-Wing) - this campaign consists of twenty missions and player has four times choice of two missions, 3 short cutscenes that help complete the storyline of the campaign.

Star Wars – X-Wing – Collector’s CD-ROM

imageimage

In 1994, they released the first collection of X-Wing series games - X-Wing Collector's CD-ROM. It's new release of 2 year-old X-Wing with both mission disks and several improvements on one CD-ROM.

The game contains: Original X-Wing game, Imperial Pursuit mission disk, B-Wing mission disk, 6 new missions for Training simulator, Enhanced graphics, Enhanced sounds, Full voice mission briefings, Easier mode available for more challenging missions.

Star Wars – Tie Fighter

imageimage

TIE Fighter was released in May 1994. This sequel to X-Wing stands the player on the opposite site of the galactic conflict - as a pilot for the Empire. The player is the cadet of the Imperial Navy and must go through hard training. Throughout the game, the player will fly in several starfighters: the TIE Fighter, TIE Bomber, TIE Interceptor, TIE Advanced, Assault Gunboat and a secret starfighter.

Star Wars – Tie Fighter – Defender of the Empire

imageimage

The only mission disk for TIE Fighter was released in 1994 (same approximate time as X-Wing Collector's CD-ROM).

This mission disk adds in original game: 3 new battles, New starfighter, the Missile Boat, 4 training mission for Missile Boat in Combat Chamber, Several new spacecraft.

Star Wars – Tie Fighter – Collector’s CD-ROM

imageimage

In the year 1995, the TIE Fighter Collector's CD-ROM was released. Like X-Wing Collector's CD-ROM, its new release of the original TIE Fighter with mission disk and several improvements, which are in comparison with X-Wing on CD-ROM, are much better. This collection contains: Original TIE Fighter game, Defender of the Empire mission disk, Brand-new campaign (Enemies of the Empire), which contains 3 battles, Enhanced graphics (resolution 640 x 480 !!!), Enhanced sounds, Full voice mission briefings and missions.

Star Wars – X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter

imageimage

The whole game is oriented on multi-player. The single-player is only something like training for the multi-player. The game doesn't contain any real campaign with story and any cut-scenes (except intro animation). This game is very uncompleted. XvT was great in technical aspect (resolution 640 x 480, all ships and space objects are fully textured, 3D acceleration with patch, better sounds and music from movies, etc.).

Player can choose which side of galactic conflict they'd like to be on - Rebels or Empire (change side consists one click with mouse). Multi-player itself is very good and has great playability. Every mission can play up to 8 players, which can play with or against.

Star Wars – X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter – Balance of Power

imageimage

The mission disk for X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter was released in 1997 too. It contains everything, including what was missing in the original game - campaign with story and cut-scenes. This mission disk contains: New starfighter on Rebel side - B-Wing, Several new starships and space objects, such as the Super Star Destroyer, Rebel Medium Transport, Modified Corellian Corvette and Light Calamari Cruiser, Two new campaigns (1 for Rebels and 1 for Imperial, both campaigns have 15 missions for up to 8 players) 6 cut-scenes, which help complete story-line of campaigns Eight Combat missions Two Melee missions One new Battle Damage to HUD components hyperspace sequence

Star Wars – X-Wing – Collector Series

imageimage

In 1998 come true dreams of many X-Wing series fans. Old classic games X-Wing and TIE Fighter (both in Collector releases) were remade and released. The New collection was called X-Wing Collector Series and contains X-Wing, TIE Fighter and special limited version of X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter. Games were upgraded pro Windows 95/98 systems and have the same graphic engine as X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter (resolution 640 x 480, 3D acceleration...). Various menus are also upgraded. Totally Games originally wanted to remake cut-scenes in both games, but it didn't happen. The only upgraded animations are X-Wing's intro (which was complete with some new frames), several animations in X-Wing and very few (almost none) in TIE Fighter. The last part of collection called X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter Flight School is something like demo version of game and contains only 14 missions.

Star Wars – X-Wing Alliance

The last game of the X-Wing series was released in 1999. Difference in comparison with previous games is tha
