The 3D technology depends on your TV, not the media( the movie file itself) . Some TV uses passive 3D (LG)= cheaper 3d glasses. whereas some uses active shutter glasses ( samsung, sharp etc). Active shutter glasses are more expensive but it is said to produce a better 3D.
