Also, can play it without a crack merely by leaving the cd image in your drive.

Everything works. However, it has the trojan expansion pack for no reason, since Gold includes all the expansion packs in one.
Also this step --- 3. Copy S4Config, Map, Snd and Video dirs from all your Settlers 4 CD-s to the gamedirectory. --- of the crack readme file is needless. I don't understand why you have to do it since all the videos and sounds work fine.
