This is Volume 1 of a continuing series of releases with the aim of having the entire WBEZ This American Life archives available in MP3 format.

Vol. 1 includes the 47 episodes comprising the first two years of Ira Glasses popular public radio program. Until episode #17, the program was known as \\\"Your Radio Playhouse\\\", after which it became \\\"This American Life\\\". Several of the very early episodes have since been re-made as \\\"This American Life\\\" with the same stories but new introductions and replaced the original episodes in the archive. These are pulled straight from the WBEZ streaming archives.
