Thanks Grum36, i'll give it a try....I am running windows 7 by the way...shoulda said that....everything else works fine (outlook, excel etc) it's just opening older documents ie; 97-2003 that cause the crash....but I shall try repairing 		Word 10 problems, can only open and use in safe mode 1 month
